Pope Paul VI was the leader of the Catholic Church from 1963 to 1978 and continued the Second Vatican Council, which had been begun by his predecessor, Pope John XXIII. Pope Francis has confirmed Paul VI’s canonization and he will be celebrated as a Saint in 2018.
