Established by Estrellita Karsh, and inaugurated in 2008, the visiting professorship brings to CHEO a distinguished physician from another medical center to share his or her expertise. The first visiting professor is Dr. Michael Shannon, Director of Emergency Medicine, Children’s Hospital, Boston. Dr. Shannon will be followed in 2009 by Dr. Steven Ringer, Chief of the Neonatal Department, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Boston.
