Revered in Japan as the “Father of the Japanese Constitution”, Yukio Ozaki is best known in the United States for presenting 3020 cherry trees to Washington, D.C. in 1912, while he was Mayor of Tokyo. The annual blooming of this gift has become one of defining events in the U.S. capitol.
