Sejong Center, Seoul, S. Korea, 2011
Yousuf Karsh was one of the most famous portrait artists in the world and has photographed hundreds of celebrities and world leaders. Among Karsh’s 4,000 works produced between 1930 and 1990, a total of a hundred representative pieces showcasing his talent and style will be on display at the Sejong Center between March 26th and May 22nd.
The exhibition will be divided into three different themes (‘Portraits,’ ‘Hands,’ and ‘Landscapes’) and will feature portraits of well-known figures such as Andy Warhol, Nelson Mandela, Christian Dior, and more. The works to be unveiled in the upcoming exhibition use original vintage film instead of digital printing, giving visitors a chance to experience the works in their original format.
