My relative was photographed and is in the Sittings. Can I have a copy of the photograph?

When Mr. Karsh closed his studio in 1992, his negatives and work prints went to the collection of Library and Archives Canada. According to his wishes, copies are not permitted. All Karsh prints were produced in the studio prior to its closing in 1992. Digital copies are made available for editorial and commercial use. Please contact Library and Archives Canada for access to the Karsh Fonds for research and study purposes only.

Can I buy a print?

Original fine art prints are limited. When Mr. Karsh closed his studio in 1992, his negatives and work prints went to the collection of Library and Archives Canada, but they are there for research and study purposes only. All available prints were made in the Karsh studio prior to 1992, and posthumous prints are not allowed. For more information about availability, please contact prints@karsh.org.
