As the wife of Henry Luce, one of the most influential men of his time, Clare Boothe Luce broke ground by establishing a hugely successful career independent of her husband. She was the Managing Editor of Vanity Fair, a playwright, congresswoman, Ambassador to Italy and Brazil, and the recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
