Karsh had closed his studio in Ottawa in 1992, aged 84, but he traveled to the White House to photograph the new president, Bill Clinton, and Hillary, in 1993. When he moved in to his new residence, President Clinton had hung Karsh’s “Roaring Lion” Churchill portrait.
