François Mitterand was born on October 26, 1916 (d. 1996). He was President of France from 1981 to 1995, the longest holder of that position in the country’s history. Mitterand was photographed by Karsh for Paris Match – one of several people the magazine hired Karsh to photograph between 1981 and 1985. The list begins with Daniel Filipacchi
