Lyndon Baines Johnson was the 36th president of the United States from 1963 to 1969. “LBJ” was born on August 27, 1908 (d. 1973). He was highly successful in passing domestic legislation including Medicare, Medicaid, legislation expanding civil rights, and public broadcasting.
