This extensive biography tells how although Buchan was mainly known for The Thirty-Nine Steps he in fact wrote about a hundred books. He was a “Scholar, antiquarian, barrister, colonial administrator, journal editor, war correspondent, director or war time propaganda, and member of parliament.”
